I accept—slow progress / handwritten notes¹ / piles of laundry my mom came over to fold / postpartum fatigue / the nonstop rain / tasks carried over day after day / good enough workouts / unfinished projects / unfinished baby books / hours of sleepy baby snuggles on the sofa / hours of nursing sessions in bed / other people’s prayers when I have no words /stretched out belly-skin / being late to the proverbial game / meal drop-offs from kind friends / perpetual dirty dishes / athleisure as my mom uniform² / that seeds planted grow in another season / the good and the hard³ / Nutella sandwiches as lunch / grace upon grace upon grace
